Announcement About Dress For Success Columbus
COLUMBUS (March 30, 2009) — Franklin County Commissioner Paula Brooks will
announce Dress for Success Columbus client Tracey Booker as the local affiliate’s
Success Summit Delegate and pass an honorary resolution in her name on
Tuesday, March 31, at 3:30 p.m. in the Press Room of The Franklin County
Courthouse.
The Success Summit is a national leadership conference that will be held in San
Francisco in July for Dress for Success’ Professional Women’s Group members
who have overcome challenging barriers and achieved self-sufficiency.
Tracey was selected to serve as the Success Summit Delegate by a committee of
her peers. In the past year she has advanced from homelessness to being
gainfully employed and striving to maintain economic independence. Along with
full-time employment, she is an active Dress for Success Columbus volunteer and
community advocate. When she returns from the three-day Summit Tracey will
spearhead a Community Action Project of her choice and will work with her
fellow Dress for Success peers and community leaders to bring it to life.
Valued community partners in attendance at the announcement will be Cindy
Lazarus, CEO of the YWCA, where Tracey resided prior to her substantial
personal achievement; Suzanne Coleman-Tolbert, CEO of COWIC JOBLeaders,
who referred Tracey to Dress for Success Columbus; Vicki Bowen, Executive
Director of Dress for Success Columbus; Marla Vucic, CFO of Jewish Family
Services, where Tracey is currently employed; and Jennifer Marshall, Leader of
Workforce Development for Jewish Family Services. Linda Heasley, CEO of The
Limited, also will be in attendance as The Limited is a financial and in-kind
supporter of Dress for Success Columbus and will suit Tracey for her trip to the
Summit.
The recognition is expected to last for 15 minutes. The Franklin County
Courthouse is located at 373 South High Street.
