MEDIA ALERT

: Commissioner Brooks To Make Landmark

Announcement About Dress For Success Columbus

COLUMBUS (March 30, 2009) — Franklin County Commissioner Paula Brooks will

announce Dress for Success Columbus client Tracey Booker as the local affiliate’s

Success Summit Delegate and pass an honorary resolution in her name on

Tuesday, March 31, at 3:30 p.m. in the Press Room of The Franklin County

Courthouse.

The Success Summit is a national leadership conference that will be held in San

Francisco in July for Dress for Success’ Professional Women’s Group members

who have overcome challenging barriers and achieved self-sufficiency.

Tracey was selected to serve as the Success Summit Delegate by a committee of

her peers. In the past year she has advanced from homelessness to being

gainfully employed and striving to maintain economic independence. Along with

full-time employment, she is an active Dress for Success Columbus volunteer and

community advocate. When she returns from the three-day Summit Tracey will

spearhead a Community Action Project of her choice and will work with her

fellow Dress for Success peers and community leaders to bring it to life.

Valued community partners in attendance at the announcement will be Cindy

Lazarus, CEO of the YWCA, where Tracey resided prior to her substantial

personal achievement; Suzanne Coleman-Tolbert, CEO of COWIC JOBLeaders,

who referred Tracey to Dress for Success Columbus; Vicki Bowen, Executive

Director of Dress for Success Columbus; Marla Vucic, CFO of Jewish Family

Services, where Tracey is currently employed; and Jennifer Marshall, Leader of

Workforce Development for Jewish Family Services. Linda Heasley, CEO of The

Limited, also will be in attendance as The Limited is a financial and in-kind

supporter of Dress for Success Columbus and will suit Tracey for her trip to the

Summit.

The recognition is expected to last for 15 minutes. The Franklin County

Courthouse is located at 373 South High Street.
